A Bird's-Eye View of 1951

  • Take a look at this aerial image from 1951!

Our community has changed in many ways since the Rush-Henrietta Central School District was formed 75 years ago. One glance at this photo taken from an airplane not long after centralization tells an incredible story.

At that time, Henrietta had vast amounts of farmland. Little of the area was developed. At the time this photo was taken, the district’s first school - now Roth Junior High School - was preparing to open just south of the bottom border of this photo.

It didn't take long for Rush-Henrietta to become a place where many people wanted to live. The community began to develop an appeal that still exists today. As new neighborhoods were created, district leaders - with the help of a supportive community - developed a strategic plan to build neighborhood schools to serve thousands of new families.

Here’s to the next 75 years!
