Wellness Workshops
-
One of Rush-Henrietta’s district priorities is mental wellness, and the district is intent on developing a comprehensive mental wellness program. Part of that initiative includes the Wellness Workshop series. These workshops are open to Rush-Henrietta families and employees, and feature experts discussing relevant mental wellness issues and available resources.
Wellness Workshop #3
This workshop was held virtually in May 2022, and focused on recognizing the effects of trauma on youth, and a discussion of strategies and resources to support them. The workshop features Bri Daniels, the school-based clinical coordinator working with us onsite at Sherman this year, and Dr. Allison Stiles, our point of contact for consultations through the Expanded School Mental Health Initiative. You may view a recording of the workshop here: Trauma-Responsive Strategies to Support Children and Teens
Wellness Workshop #2
This second workshop was held virtually in March 2021, and discussed strategies to foster mental health and resilience in children and families. Dr. Melissa Heatly, clinical child psychologist and director of Expanded School Mental Health Initiatives at UR Pediatric Behavioral Health & Wellness, led the expert panel discussion. Resources she shared are available below, and you may view a recording of the workshop here: Fostering Mental Health & Resilience in Children and Families During Challenging Times
Wellness Workshop #1
Held in December 2019, this first workshop featured Dr. James Wallace of the University of Rochester. Dr. Wallace spoke to a packed house about depression and anxiety, and shared strategies for addressing both. You may watch a recording of the presentation by clicking here: Depression and Anxiety
