Sunday, February 02, 2025Hello Roth Families and Friends,
It was an exciting weekend at Roth Junior High! And, we have some exciting news to share. Please read below for an update on our new assistant principal, praise for this weekend’s performances, and a few reminders.
Roth Junior High Assistant Principal: At last week’s meeting, our Board of Education appointed Jessica Dolan as our new assistant principal at Roth Junior High School. She succeeds Dr. Windover, who recently departed for a leadership opportunity in her hometown of Canandaigua. Mrs. Dolan brings with her valuable experience as a secondary English teacher, reading intervention teacher, and administrator. Most recently, Mrs. Dolan has served as an assistant principal at Odyssey Academy in the Greece Central School District. She received her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford; a master’s degree in 5-12 Literacy Education from Canisius College; and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from American College of Education. Mrs. Dolan’s first day with Roth students and staff will be Friday, February 28. Please join me in welcoming her!
Roth Parent/Guardian Survey: *A reminder to share your input. As an R-H resident, it has been such an honor to lead in the community that I have called home for 16 years. At previous districts, I learned the value of family and community engagement. It truly takes a village. The work that we hope to accomplish need not be confined to the walls and halls of Roth Junior High. It is my hope that families feel comfortable and welcome on campus. We have a wealth of experience, information, and resources that we each bring to any conversation or situation. Please take a few moments to complete this Parent/Guardian Feedback survey to help guide our way forward. Thank you in advance.
Shrek the Musical Jr: Thank you to all of the families and friends who came out to support our students this weekend. Our auditorium looked near capacity for both performances. Our students – cast and crew – did a fantastic job bringing the Kingdom of Duloc and Shrek’s swamp to life on stage. A special thanks to the advisors, teachers, and parents who contributed to the success of our show! Months of hard work and preparation paid off, and it was just the latest in a succession of experiences at Roth Junior High that make me so grateful to have joined the team. Though we have our own dance next Friday evening, I’m hopeful that we can bring our spirit and energy to Burger Junior High next Saturday night to support their production of Matilda the Musical Jr.
Roth Junior High Dance: Tickets are on sale for Friday’s dance. The cost is $10 per student. The dance is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 7. Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be available.
District Parent Satisfaction Survey: Our annual parent survey is coming soon! This is an opportunity for parents and guardians to let us know what we are doing well, and what we can do differently. All responses are anonymous; participation is voluntary but encouraged. The survey will be open Monday, February 3, through Sunday, February 16, and is available in a number of languages. More information will be shared soon. We appreciate your time and insight!
With the first twenty weeks in the rearview, I’m looking forward to seeing what our students and staff are able to achieve over these next twenty. Here’s to a smooth continuation of our 2nd semester, and to supporting our students along the way.
