Dear Roth Families,
The end of the school year is approaching fast. We have a very busy month of May. Please be sure to check out the May calendar for all the important events. Our 7th grade students have the opportunity to participate in the field trip to Tinker Nature Center. This field trip is a great opportunity not only for our 7th graders, but for some of our AP Environmental high school students to teach our students at Tinker Park. Our 8th grade students have several opportunities this month including; Washington, D.C trip or Hometown events and the Earth Science Letchworth Park field trip. Our 9th graders will have the opportunity to attend the Semi Formal to be held on May 31 from 6-8 PM. We are excited that several students are involved with the planning of this dance and chose the theme Masquerade!
Quarter four has already begun. This means that our students are nearing the end of the 18-19 school year. Please remember to contact your child’s teachers if you have any questions or concerns. We still have several weeks to intervene with students, review materials, and help them get ready for the next step!
Once again this year, the Roth JHS staff and School Improvement Team will review student survey information, along with the parent survey information, to plan for the upcoming school year. In the next few weeks, staff will review the data and share recommendations for the school year. If you have any recommendations for our school, please send me an email with your specific recommendations. We will consider all recommendations to improve our school!
New York State Math testing begins this week. On May 1 and 2, our students in grades 7 and 8 will be asked to participate in the paper-based New York State Math assessments. In recent years, some students at Roth have chosen to opt out of the New York State Assessment but we encourage everyone to sit for it. If you should have any questions about the upcoming NYS assessments or anything else related to Roth Junior High School, as always, please don't hesitate to contact me at kmacko@rhnet.org
Thank you for your continued support,Sincerely,
Kerry Macko,
Roth Junior High School Principal
