Clubs and Activities (2:35 to 3:30 p.m.)
After-school Clubs can begin on October 1. We will host several after-school activities and provide late-bus transportation on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday afternoons only. Late buses will depart Roth at 3:35 p.m.

Antisocial Social Club Mr. Cruz Thursdays Antisocial Social club is a supportive and vibrant community designed for individuals looking to enhance their social skills and build meaningful connections. Art Club (2nd half of year) Mrs. Meka ASL Club Mrs. Kramer Mondays Learn about ASL and deaf culture.6 Baking Club Mrs. Kramer Mondays Learn how to bake. Bingo Club Mrs. Holdraker Tuesdays at least 1x a month Time for connecting with friends with snacks, camaraderie and the thrill of the win at Bingo games. Birthday Club Mr. O'Connor Before school M-F, after school as needed The birthday Fairies are responsible for the celebrating everyone's birthday. We will put together a treat bag and deliver them to the birthday student before 1st period. Black Girl Magic Mrs. Dorsey-Patros / Mrs. Marshmon 4th Tuesday of each month This club was created by a former Roth student to uplift and empower young women of color. This may be done through book readings, guest speakers and well as attending conferences. Board Game Club Mrs. Claeys One Thursday a month Students will learn to play various board games/card games with other Roth Students. Braids and Styles Club Mrs. Kramer Tuesdays Learn how to braid and style hair-all types. Chamber Orchestra Mrs. Herman Fridays Select advanced orchestra ensemble aiming to give extra challenges/musical opportunities. Chess Competition Club Mark Broz Thursdays We will meet weekly throughout the season to practice for our meets throughout the year. Community Service Club Mrs. Moore Thursdays Students will work on creating seasonal decorations, crafts, cards, ect. to be shared with local nursing homes as well as Roth's Birthday Club. Cooking Club Mrs. Pontillo Mondays, sometimes Mondays and Tuesdays consecutively Making simple meals and introducing specific cooking techniques. Craft Club Ms. Wojslaw Monday, once a month Each month, we will complete a small craft I provided. I will have to limit the number of students attending to complete the craft. Critter Club Mrs. Cresswell Second Tuesday of the month Learn about different animals. Possible guest speakers (animal professionals or just animal lovers/experts), guest critters, opportunities to help animal rescue groups and maybe even some animal type crafts. Crochet Club Mrs. Kleemann Last Thursday of the month or close to it Come learn how to crochet or how to improve your current crochet skills. DC Trip Mrs. Flood & Mr. Malllaber A few parent meetings and many meetings are through Google Classroom and during 8th gr. lunch. Trip 5/14 - 5/16 8th grade 3 day trip to Washington D.C. Dedicated Voices Mr. Kazacos Diversity Club Mrs. Moran Thursdays Dungeons and Dragons Club Mrs. Kleemann First Thursday of the month or close to it Students can play Dungeons and Dragons during the club after school. Fitness Club Mr. Allen & Mr. Cole Mondays after school Fitness Club is an opportunity for students to learn about the various components of fitness such as cardio, muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. They will learn basic fundamentals of exercising and working out while also participating in high intensity workouts in our Roth Fitness Center Freshman Class Club Mrs. Kleeman / Ms. Newman 1x a month, but maybe more as needed To plan Freshman events amd create a sense of community. Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) Mr. O’Connor 2nd Tuesday Our GSA offers a safe space for LGBTQ+ students and allies. Our focus is understanding the coming out process and to gain better understanding of gender and sexuality. Guitar Club Mr. Broz Mondays We will meet and build community around practicing and playing the guitar. Intramurals Mr. Allen, Mr. Cole, & Mrs. Meyer Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:50 - 7:18 Including, but not limited to, basketball, volleyball, and 4 square. It will be open gym style with students attending as they get off of the bus. Jazz Band Mrs. Mate Every Wednesday & Friday 6:45 - 7:20am Jazz Band is an extra ensemble that focuses on the instrumental performance of Jazz music. We perform swing, ballads. latin and rock styles. No audition is required, however, students must be able to read music and currently in a school music ensemble. Jewelry Club Mrs. Kleemann First Monday of the month or close to it Jewelry club members will have the opportunity to make various types of jewelry- including necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Beads, wire, cord and embroidery mediums available. Juggling Club Mr. Broz Tuesdays We will meet and practice juggling with the goal of being ready for a performance in Roth's first showcase. Math Team Mr. O’Connor Third Tuesday Following Curriculum by the Math Counts. Math team will give students an opportunity to engage with math through problem solving and exploration. NJHS Mrs. Kleeman & Mrs. Hernandez Mostly Mondays, but other days as needed Students will work together to build community. Community service projects including Make a Difference Day, winter clothing drive and teacher/staff appreciation. Prop Crew Mrs. Benjamin Tuesdays and Thursdays Students work together to make props for upcoming musicals. Latin Dance Club Mrs. Dorsey-Patros Third Tuesday of each month Come and learn how to dance salsa, merengue, bachata and reggaeton dance styles. We will learn the basic steps and also learn how to dance with a partner. Snowsports Club Mr. Prinzi Tuesday nights Students go to Bristol Mountain to ski and snowboard. Spanish Club Mrs. Cresswell 2nd Tuesday of the month The Spanish Club is a fun, interactive group where you'll get to learn about and celebrate the vibrant cultures, foods, art and language of the Spanish-speaking countries. It's a great way to explore new traditions, try delicious dishes and meet friends who share your interest. Student Council Mrs. Biata & Mrs. Flood First Monday of each month The Student Council is hoping to expand the school-wide events that we sponsored this year. We added dates to the district kalendar to increase attendance. Swifties Club Mrs. LaPlaca Thursdays All are welcome- this club will explore the music and culture impact of Taylor Swift. There will be lyric analysis, friendship bracelet making, singing and dancing, as well as discussion about the music industry and Swifts influence on the economy through her Eras tour, re-recordings and album sales. Tri-M Mrs. Quinlan Nationally recognized music honor society for 8th and 9th grade students. Uno Club Mrs. Claeys One Thursday a month Students will learn to play various forms of the card game UNO and have the opportunity to play with other students. Voice Club Mr. Kazacos & Mrs. Quinlan As Needed Prepare 7th chorus students for All-County and Solo Festival. WEB Kramer, Keenan, Hernandez & Meka Varies throughout the year Student leadership and programming. Yearbook Club Mrs. Kramer & Mrs. Cresswell Multiple times throughout the year Create the yearbook. Students will help in creating the yearbook as well as help with promoting the year book.
