    UPDATE:

Rush-Henrietta Reopening for K-6 Hybrid Students April 19

Excerpt from Superintendent Bo Wright's April 13 E-News message to families:

Thank you for your patience as we seek clarification regarding reopening guidance released by the state. Like many school districts, we had several questions about the new document. After several days of research, we have learned more.

The good news is Rush-Henrietta is bringing hybrid students in grades K-6 back to school four days per week starting Monday, April 19.

This means hybrid students in Cohorts 1 and 2 will be in school each weekday, with Wednesdays remaining virtual. Masks are still required.

State guidance does not allow our grades 7-12 students to return yet.

Based on community infection rates, these students must remain six feet apart in classrooms. If infection rates fall, we potentially can reduce the spacing to three feet, gaining needed flexibility. While it is uncertain when secondary students will be able to return, our plan is to bring them to campus more often. The date that can happen will be determined on a week-to-week basis.

New asynchronous days on Thursday, April 15, and Friday, April 16, remain in effect for hybrid students in grades K-12. This time will be used for teachers, staff, and administrators at all our buildings to prepare. This includes those at the junior and senior high schools so we will be ready should we be able to welcome grades 7-12 in the near future.

Students enrolled in Cohort 3 still will attend school Thursday and Friday. These are NYSAA students, students in self-contained special education classes, and students attending Webster Learning Center. Students in the Remote Learning Academy also will attend classes as scheduled on these two days.

Thank you for your support during the past year. We look forward to seeing your student more often soon! In the meantime, be safe, stay healthy, and continue taking care of each other.

    4/12/21 Monday, Cohort 1

Starting April 19, both Cohorts 1 & 2 will join together to attend school Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays! Wednesdays will remain remote. In order to prepare, there will be no in-person classes on Thursday or Friday of this week.

Attention softball players or those who want to learn the game of softball.  Just about 2 weeks from today will be softball try outs for Mod A and Mod B Girls Softball.  Family ID has now opened for those sports and you MUST have the form completed and approved by your school nurse before you can attend try outs.  If you have further questions feel free to e-mail Coach D. Finewood or Coach K Blair.

The RH Modified Cross Country Team made the trip across town to Pittsford to race against Calkins Road School on a beautiful Saturday. Both the boys and girls races were close ones. The boys fell to Calkins Road with a score of 22 to 46. The top 5 runners continue to be solid, but the highlight of the day was the personal bests recorded by all the boys. The biggest improvement was seen by Ryan Brock, Noah Conner, Swarnim Sapkota and Jeremy St. John. The girls held on, to come away with a 27-29 victory. The top runners performed well, but once again personal records were turned in by all the girls with the biggest improvements being turned in by Siri Tadepelli, Iman Hdabee, Charlotte Roth and Zariah Johnson. It was a great day to be a Royal Comet. Let’s work hard this week and finish strong.
