  • 12/7/22 - Wednesday, "B" Day

    Musical

    If you are interested in working backstage for the upcoming Aladdin Jr. musical, then now is the time to apply. We have many people interested, so you'll need to get your application in very quickly. You can pick up applications from Mr. Prinzi in room 132, and you have one week to get them signed and handed in!

    The RH Boys Varsity swim team defeated Churchville on Tuesday by a score of 96-82. Chris Caswell was a quadruple winner for RH, winning the 200 Free and 500 Free and as a member of the 200 Medley Relay with Jordan Annlee, Christopher Lewis and Mikey Flannery and the 200 Free Relay with Aaron Merkl, Matthew Lewis and Tyler Zuber. Christpohner Lewis was also a quadruple winner, winning the 100 free, 100 Back and the 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays. Matthew Lewis won the 200 IM. Mikey Flannery won the 50 Free. Aaron Merkl won the 100 Fly. Jordan Annlee won the 100 Breaststroke. Congratulations to Bayley Herman who qualified for Sectionals as well with a huge time drop and broke 1:00 for the first time ever in the 100 Freestyle, going 57.18.

    11/14: Modified Swimming and Diving Team - Attention all 7th and 8th grade students.  RH is beginning a NEW TEAM this winter, beginning November 28.  The Modified Swimming and Diving Team is looking for both Boys and Girls who have an interest in trying our team out.  There will be an interest meeting Monday November 14 at Sperry High School Pool starting at 2:45/3pm.  Students may take the Shuttle Bus to the High School and go to the Pool Hallway. Kids may then take the Late Bus home from the High School at 3:45 (passes will be given by Coach Parton) or parents may pick you up there at the Gymnasium entrance.  No past swim team or dive team experience is required, but you must be able to swim one length of the pool non stop. Any Questions can be sent to Coach Parton!  rparton@rhnet.org

    This past weekend:

    The cross country team competed this past Saturday in the state championships at Vernon-Verona-Sherrill high school.
     
    Christian Wescott finished 25th and Mikey Flannery 31st in the boys Class A race. Both runners with Sam Adamson, Sam Lewis, Evan Robey, Bayley Herman and Sam Yacob will be competing next Saturday in the NYS Federation Championships at Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls.
     
    Haylie Smith broke the school record on the V-V-S course while placing 29th in the girls Class A race while Lindsay Richardson placed 41st. Lindsay was voted the Section V girls Class A Sportsmanship Award winner.
     
    Haylie will also be competing next weekend at the NYS Federation Championships.

    The girls team placed 3rd overall in Class A.
    Haylie Smith finished 2nd with Lindsay Richardson 3rd and Audrey Gleghorn 10th. Haylie and Lindsay earned 1st Team Section V All Stars while Audrey earned 3rd team.
    also scoring was Alexus Luc 38th and Ava Magyar 41st.
    Haylie and Lindsay qualified for the state championships this coming Saturday at Veron Verona Sherrill High School
    Mikey Flannery led the boys team to a 2nd place finish in Class A followed closely by Christian Wescott in 5th place and both qualified to compete at states.
    Sam Adamson 12th, Sam Lewis 21st and Evan Robey 22nd completed the scoring.
    Mikey and Christian earned 1st team All Stars and Sam Adamson earned 3rd team.

    The Rush Henrietta modified cross country team hosted the Future Stars Invitational and ended their season with the girls coming in 1st place and the boys came in 2nd place. The girls took off first and were led by Violet Lewis (3rd place), Annabel Nudds (5th place), Emily Whitehouse (7th place), Grace Favalo (10th place), and Jane Pschierer (11th). The boys were led by Nolan Covey (5th place), Andrew Smith (6th place), Jiraiya Mey (11th), Jason Chen (13th), and Regi Dunlop (14th). Everyone finished strong for RH and it was a great day to end the season.

    The RH cross country competed in the Monroe Country Championships this past Saturday with all 22 county schools in attendance.
     
    The girls varsity placed 5th overall and was led by Haylie Smith who placed 2nd with Lindsay Richardson 4th, Audrey Gleghorn 47th, Ava Magyar 49th and Isabelle Colosimo 69th.
    Haylie and Lindsay earned 1st team All County with Audrey and Ava earning 2nd team.
     
    The boys varsity placed 4th overall and was led by Mikey Flannery who placed 6th with Christian Wescott 8th, Sam Adamson 21st, Evan Robey 29th and Bayley Herman 42nd.
    Earning first team All County was Mikey, Christian, Sam and Evan with Bayley, Sam Lewis and Mamadou Barry earning 2nd team.
     
    Girls Varsity B was led by Sarah Picard who placed 11th and the team 5th
    Girls JV was led by Ayla Campini who placed 9th and the team 4th
     
    Boys Varsity B was led by Sam Yacob who placed 6th and the team 2nd.

    Friday, the Modified Cross Country team went to Parma Park to compete against many other Monroe County teams.  The night was a perfect October night and the boys and girls teams were ready to make their mark.  The boys went off first with 273 runners. They got settled into a great pace. Nolan Covey 15th, Andrew Smith 17th, Jiraiya Mey 43rd, Mac Herreid 59th and Jason Chen 60th all scored for the boys. The boys team finished 8th out of 19. The girls were next and they also got out strong and raced well. This race had 164 competitors.  The top 5 girls scored for the team and they were Violet Lewis 11th, Annabel Nudds 25th, Emily Whitehouse 35th, Jane Pschierer 69th and Taylor Aforismo 72nd. The girls from RH took 5th out of 14 teams.  Well done everyone. No practice today, but get in a 30 minute workout on your own.  Practice on Tuesday.

    The RH Girls Mod. A soccer team won their final game of the year last night on the road at Brockport. The entire team had an amazing game! RH’s single goal was scored by Lilly Howlett on an assist from Alex Gross. The footwork, defense, passing, communication, speed and tenacity of this team are second to none. Thank you for a great season ladies!!

    This week the mod b girls volleyball team took on Greece Athena and Brockport. Our leading servers this week were Jaelynn Johnson, Ava Barnes and Annabelle Esquejo. Emma Sheldon, Alexis Johnson, Elena Au, and Ashley Sugrue played great on defense. Fiona Finlayson and Sadie Simonelli lead the team in kills. We are back in action on Monday for our last game of the season.

    The RH Girls Mod. A soccer team dominated Irondequoit with a 5-1 win last night at home. Goals were scored by Alex Gross, Bella Kroesen, Lilly Howlett, Nirusma Tamung and Beza Teshome. Other outstanding performances were made by Emily Roman, Kara Benjamin, Gianna Fregoe, Anja Kato, Avery Taylor, Briella Morgan and Susana Sherman. Outstanding goaltending by Addison Sweet and Katelyn Smith. Way to go ladies!

    Congratulations to the Mod. B football team on their win over Victor Gold 41 to 14 to bring their record to 6 and 0. Outstanding play for RH was made by Parker Zugnoni, Imani Wagstaff, Jacob Millitello, Roman Chandler, Noah Buholtz, Gaga Hampton, Ryder Zudhegno, Tyler and Jaden Cleveland and Dominic Hillin.     The RH Modified Cross Country went to Parma Park to compete in the 2nd annual RH/Hilton invitational. The Boys were up first and got off to a good start.  At the finish many RH runners outkicked their opponents. The boys came away runner ups to Victor. Nolan Covey and Andrew Smith led the RH charge finishing 4th and 7th. Jason Chen, Jiraiya Mey and Reggie Dunlop rounded out the scoring for the Royal Comets.  The Girls went off 20 minutes later and were led by Violet Lewis who finished 5th overall, Her time of 13:39 was the 12th fastest off all time for Varsity, JV and Modified programs.  Annabel Nudds, Emily Whitehouse, Caroline Hendy and Taylor Aforismo finished off the scoring for the Lady Royal Comets, who finished in 4th place.  Saturday was a great day to be a Royal Comet.

    There is NO Mod B girls Soccer Practice today. We will meet tomorrow at Roth at from 3;00-4:00 to wrap up our season. see you then.

Annabelle Esquejo, Sadie Simonelli and Elena Au showed their great skills on defense. Ava Barnes, Alexis Johnson and Fiona Finlayson lead the team at the net. We are back in action on Tuesday at Greece Athena. 

    The Rush Henrietta girls modified a soccer team, lost a close game last night. Alex Gross had a rocket of a shot off the post sending the ball back to Arabella Kroesen who hit it home and put RH up 1 to 0.  Addison Sweet and Katelyn Smith played great in goal.     The boys cross country team beat Fairport and Brighton on Wednesday at Shadow Pines Park to win the Monroe County Division 1 title with a 5-0 record.
    Mikey Flannery won the race in 16:47 with Christian Wescott 2nd, Evan Robey 4th, Sam Adamson 6th, Mamadou Barry 11th, Bayley Herman 13th and Sam Lewis 16th.
    Their overall record is now 14-2
     
    Haylie Smith broke the course record on her way to victory in 18:49 as the girls team beat Brighton, but lost to Fairport. Completing the scoring was Lindsay Richardson 4th, Ava Magyar 11th, Alexus Luc 14th, Isabelle Colosimo 20th, Sarah Picard 22nd and Saughnessy Trevor 24th.
    The girls cross country finished 3-2 in Division 1 and are 9-6 overall.
     
    Last night the Rush Henrietta cross town rivals for Mod B Girls Volleyball took the court at Burger.  Jaelynn Johnson, Sadie Simonelli, Fiona Finlayson, Alisa Monds, Nyamouch Tut, Natalia Wilson and Brooke Hobbs had impressive serving performances. Both teams had many volleys over the net and showed tremendous hustle and skills.  Erin Batzel, Grace Gurung, Morgan Roper, Ava Barnes, Alexis Johnson and Emma Sheldon were hustling machines.  All of the team members have shown improvement since the start of the season.  RH Roth takes on Arcadia at Roth today,  RH Burger takes on Olympia home tomorrow.
     
    Congratulations to the Modified A Girls soccer team on a tough match against Fairport.  Lilly Howlett scored a lofting shot over the goalie’s head. Katelyn Smith was solid at Goalkeeper. Raina St. John, Susie Sherman, Kara Kennedy, Emy Johnson and Savanna Syoithoum had great games for RH. Great job ladies!

    Over the weekend, the Rush Henrietta Modified Cross Country team crushed the Legends invitational in Newark with both boys and girls teams getting 1st place overall. The boys' team was led by Nolan Covey (1st place), Andrew Smith (3rd place), Jason Chen (4th place), Jiraiya Mey (5th place), and Keegan Trevor (7th place) all scoring well for RH. The girl's team was led by Violet Lewis (1st place), Annabel Nudds (2nd place), Emily Whitehouse (3rd place), Caroline Hendy (5th place), and Grace Favalo (6th place) also scoring well for RH.

    Snowsports Club is back at Roth for another year!  Snowsports club is for anyone who is interested in skiing or snowboarding this winter.  We will be taking 6 trips to Bristol Mountain during January and February.  It is a great time whether you are an experienced skier or snowboarder or if you want to try for the first time!  We will have an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 11th in room 132.  If you can't make the meeting, then find Mr. Prinzi to get a registration packet!

    The Mod. A Girls Soccer Team tied 3-3 against Greece Athena last night. Bella kroesen scored the first goal for RH followed by two from Alex Gross. Lucy Cote, Giana Fregoe and Emy Johnson all had great games! RH faces Fairport on the road next Tuesday.

    This week the Mod B volleyball team (Roth) took on HFL and Batavia and came away with two 3-3 ties. Serving was lead by Sadie Simonelli, Zoe Miller and Ashley Sugrue.  Our defensive leaders were Annabelle Esquejo, Mariana Albino-Toro and Melissa Hogan. Alexis Johnson and Emma Sheldon lead the team in blocks and kills. We are back in action Wednesday against Burger.

    The Mod A girls Volleyball team beat Irondiquoit today with a score of 5-0. The players are Gabi Travers, Gabby Johnstone, Blessing Ogbama, Josana Au, Phoebe Smith, Charlotte Roth, Olivia, Eve Thapa, Eve Richards, Rinjula, Leyla, Zion and Zariah Johnson, Alyssa Lenhard and Zoe Villone.

    Thursday night the RH Boys mod B soccer team played a great game against Canandaigua. The 3 goals were scored by Jamare Johnson, Tyler Harrington, Mason Voss and Adam Al-Shannon. Great game boys!

    Congratulations to the Mod. B Football team on their 27 to 6 win over Penfield bringing their record to 4 and 0. Outstanding plays for RH were made by Denzel Sanchez, Imani Wagstaff, John Miller, Ryder Zuchegno, Jayden Peters and Xayvier McClean.

    Girls JV soccer team wrapped up last week with a win over Brockport with the goals being scored by Ciena Craw in both the Brockport and Victor games. The defense held on strong to have a shutout against Brockport. Great job to the defense, Mariam Barry, Paige Cenzi, Hannah Iamaio, Leah Kelsey, Kali Leathersich, and Taylor Potwin. Good luck against Fairport on Thursday. Great job working and growing as a team!!

    The girls team travelled to Webster last night, falling 75-37.  Led by Neylah Ortiz, the girls took wins in the 500 freestyle, and the 200 and 400 freestyle relays, where she was joined by Jalisia Burno, Shayla Weise and Adrianna Hardy.  Weise also won the 100 backstroke, while Hardy and Ortiz took 3rd in their other events, with Weise and Hardy taking 4th and 5th in their final individual events.  The girls next travel to Gates Chili on Thursday.

    Roth's GSA, our Gender and Sexuality Alliance, will meet next Tuesday October 11th in Room 307.  Our GSA is open to anyone identifying as LGBTQ+ or the allies.

    The RH Girls Mod. A Soccer Team lost a close game 2-1 last night on the road against top-ranked Spencerport.  An amazing team effort all around as  RH scored the first goal on a Bella Krosen assist to Alex Gross. RH held Spencerport off until a late game penalty shot tied it up. Gianna LeBrun, Kara Benjamin, Emily Roman and Briella Morgan all had amazing games for RH.

    Zaliyah Dillard scored two goals and Maleena Dahal tallied one goal as the RH girls Mod B soccer team earned their first win of the season  over of Brighton 3-2.  Goalie Maia verstraete made some game saving stops in the second half and Natalie Pavia played lock down D. Congratulations girls!

    The Modified B Volleyball Team (Roth) took on Brockport and East Irondequoit last week and came away with two wins! The teams leading servers were Fiona Finlayson, Ava Barnes and Anna Esquejo. Makena Brady, Alexis Johnson and Emma Sheldon lead the team with attacks at the net. Sadie Simonelli and Stefani Braidotti lead the team on defense. We are back in action on Tuesday. 

    Deca is a new club at Roth this year!  If you are taking a business class, you can participate in Deca!  It is a really fun club that gives you great experience in business & marketing.  This would give you an edge on competition in high school.  Deca looks great on college applications & resumes. Find out more at the informational meeting with Mrs. Garlock on Monday October 17th after school in room 424. 

    Are you interested in yoga & mindfulness?  Come give it a try & see how great you can feel. It’s a fun and unique experience that helps you reduce stress, improve focus, increase emotional awareness, & feel better physically.  First meeting is on Thursday, October 6th after school in the conference room with Mrs. Garlock.

    Great job to the mod b girls soccer team earning a tie against Brighton. You all worked especially hard on the field. A special shout-out to Maia Verstraete in goal, Lily Thone on defense, and Mackenzie Bonanza with Lydia Taylor in the midfield. Let's go and get a win in our next game on Monday!

Have you wanted to learn how to play Uno?  Are you looking for a place to hang out and play Uno with friends after school?  Please join Mrs. Claeys on Tuesday October 4th after school in room 131 to play Uno with other Roth students.  Be sure to sign up on the sheet outside Mrs. Claeys room by the first meeting.  Everyone is welcome to participate.  Hope to see you there!

    Congratulations to the Mod. B Football team on their come from behind win over Fairport 21 to 18 to bring their record to 3 and 0. Outstanding play for RH was made by: Imani Wagstaff, Griffen Freeman, Jacob Militello, Joe Infante, Phoenix Joseph, Dominic Hillin, Tyler Cleveland, Parker Zugnoni and Sy'mage Bedell. Great job men.

    The boys and girls cross country teams hosted Batavia, HF-L and Victor on Wednesday at Mendon West and swept all three schools.
     
    Christian Wescott placed 2nd with Mike Flannery 4th, Sam Adamson 8th, Evan Robey 9th and Bailey Herman 10th
    The boys are now 3-0 in Division 1 and 9-1 overall
     
    Haley Smith and Lindsay Richardson took 1st and 2nd respectively with Ava Magyar8th, Alexus Luc 13th and Sarah Picard 19th,
    Alexus and Sarah passed five Victor girls over the last 700 meters to seal the victory!
    The girls are now 2-1 in Division 1 and 7-3 overall
     
    Congratulations to Arabella Krosen on scoring a goal in last nights stunning game against Penfield. Emily Roman, Gia LeBron, Savannah Sherman and Kara Kennedy all had great games. Way to go ladies!
     
    The boys modified B soccer team played the best game of their season against webster Spry last night. They lost 2-1 but played with conviction. The next game is this friday at Burger at 5:00.

    Congratulations to the Mod. A Girls Soccer team on improving to 1-1 on a hard fought game last night. Lilly Howlett scored the only goal for RH. Other great plays were made by Anja Kato, Kara Benjamin, Gia Fregoe, Avery Taylor and Addison Sweet. RH is home against Brockport tonight.

    Auditions for Dedicated Voices will be held after school today in room 103. Be sure to complete the audition form located in the Dedicated Voices Google Classroom before the end of the day. If you have questions about how to join the Classroom see Mr  Kazacos in room 103. Also, you need a ride home at 3:40 if you plan on staying for auditions.

    The RH Girls Mod. A soccer team lost a close game against Churchville-Chili last night, 4-2. Both goals were scored by Lilly Howlett. Excellent performances from Giana LeBron, Bella Kroesen, Kara Benjamin and Briella Morgan rounded out a great comeback by RH. Way to go ladies!!

    Dedicated Voices will be holding auditions after school, this Thursday, after school till 3:40pm. Because there are no late buses, you will need to have a ride home at 3:40, or set up a time with Mr. Kazacos to audition during the day. Please email Mr. Kazacos or see him in Room 103 if you would like to audition. Rehearsal files are posted on a Google Classroom page that anyone auditioning will be invited to.

    At 1st singles, Riley Brown and at 2nd singles Mia Favalo were victorious.  All of our doubles won their matches as well.  Way to go!

    The RH Modified Cross Country team went to Black Creek yesterday for their first meet of the season. The team was nervous, but prepared to take on the other 3 schools. The boys raced first, getting out and settling into a nice race pace. Nolan Covey and Andrew Smith worked together and placed 4th and 5th overall. Jack Timpani, Jason Chen and Jariya Mey finished strong and scored for the team. The boys went 2-1 at the meet. The girls were next and ready. Once again RH got out fast and established a great pace. Violet Lewis finished 2nd, Annabel Nudds 5th, Caroline Hendy 10th, Ella Serapilio 12th, Jane Pschierer 13th and Grace Favalo 15th all scored for The Royal Comets. The girls also finished the race 2-1. Great showing for RH everyone and as always we finished strong. 

    The cross country team opened their season this past weekend at the Bob Goodell Memorial Invitational winning both varsity races and the boys sub varsity race.
    Evan Robey was the top finisher in the sub varsity boys race placing 2nd and Ayla Campini was the top RH finisher in the girls sub varsuty race placing 14th.
     
    Christian Wescott placed 11th in the vasity race followed by Mikey Flannery 12th, Zach Terrano 15th, Caleb Lantz 17th and Sam Adamson 22nd to win the varsity team race.
    Haylie Smith and Lindsay Richardson finished 1st & 2nd to lead the girls team to victory with Audrey Gleghorn 6th, Ava Magyar 21st and Isabelle Colosimo 32nd rounding out the team scoring.
     
    On Tuesday the team took on Churchville Chili, Penfield and Spencerport at Black Creek Park. Mikey Flannery led the boys this time in 3rd place and to a 2-1 record only loosing to Churchville.
    Also scoring was Christian Wescott 7th, Zach Terrano 12th, Caleb Lantz 16th and Evan Robey 17th. The boys are now 1-0 in their league and 3-1 overall
     
    Lindsay Richardson took 2nd place with Haylie Smith close in 3rd to lead the girls team to a 2-1 record only loosing to Churchville by a narrow 3pt margin. Completing the scoring were Audrey Gleghorn 7th, Alexus Luc 9th and Ava Magyar 11th. The girls are also 1-0 in their league and 3-1 overall.
     
    Up next is the Wayne Invite on Saturday.

    The goals were scored by Aliyah Hunter and Tiana Phouangphan. While the assists were from Mariam Barry and Madeline Lewis. Good luck against Fairport on Wednesday.
     
    A tough loss for JV football last night as they battled hard at Fairport. Nice job to Christian Franklin who scored a touchdown with a pass from quarterback Brendan Mangone. 
    The next game will be on the road next Tuesday @ St Francis in Buffalo.
