Matthew Vreeland, Class of 1985

  • Matthew Vreeland, Class of 1985, received a bachelor's degree in health and society from the University of Rochester in 1989, and a master's degree in public policy analysis from the University of Rochester in 1990. But, as far as education goes, he was far from finished.

    In 1997, Matthew earned a medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, F. Edward Herbert School of Medicine. He completed a one-year tour as a flight surgeon in Korea before returning to Fort Lewis, Wa., where he completed residency training in emergency medicine.

    A major in the U.S. Army, Matthew serves as chief of emergency medical services at Womac Army Medical Center in Ft. Bragg, N.C.

    Matthew Vreeland was honored with the Distinguished Alumni award in 2003.
