DIGIES Digital Arts Festival

Congratulations to four students from Burger who placed in the 2019 DIGIES awards! The DIGIES is an annual digital media conference and festival run by the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership in Western New York State. For the past several years students from our senior high school have been recognized for their media arts work. We are pleased to announce that FOUR students from our junior high school have placed in the competition!
With the release of the new NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, the RH Visual Art department has been working to integrate media arts in a meaningful way. We have created curriculum that requires students to create media content, rather than passively consuming it. Students learn to use multiple digital tools and techniques/skills and apply them across art courses, in different settings. Students from our junior high schools created their work in several different courses - Foundations in Art, Applied Art Technology, and Digital Imaging and Photography.
The following entries placed and received an award at the DIGIES Awards Ceremony held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Strong Museum of Play. Please join us in congratulating them! We are #RHProud!!Graphic Arts
