Congratulations to the four R-H JHS students from Burger who have placed in this year's Digies! The DIGIES is an annual digital media conference and festival run by the Genesee Valley Educational Partnership in Western New York State. For the past several years students from our HS have been recognized for their media arts work. This year, we are pleased to announce that FOUR students from our JHS have placed in the JHS level of the competition!
With the release of the new NYS Learning Standards for the Arts, the RH Visual Art department has been working to integrate media arts in a meaningful way. We have created curriculum that requires students to create media content, rather than passively consuming it. Students learn to use multiple digital tools and techniques/skills and apply them across art courses, in different settings. The students from both Burger and Roth created their work in several different courses offered at the JHS - Foundations in Art, Applied Art Technology, and Digital Imaging and Photography.
The following entries have placed and will be receiving an award at the Digies Awards Ceremony Thursday, May 16th from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Strong Museum of Play. Please join us in congratulating them! We are #RH Proud!!
