Welcome to the Department of Music and Art!
We invite you to browse this portion of the district website to learn more about our outstanding music and art programs. We are very proud of our fine arts programs and the work our students are able to accomplish! We hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities to share in and celebrate these fantastic programs by attending one of the concerts and art shows. The links at the left will take you to information about the district programs, news, events and staff.
Our comprehensive general music curriculum spans grades K through 12. In addition, the district offers a wide variety of performance ensembles and opportunities. Students may begin taking an orchestra or band instrument and/or sing in the chorus in fourth grade. Each school has its own band, chorus, and orchestra. All students are invited and welcome to join a performance ensemble.
The art program in Rush-Henrietta is characterized by the enormous dedication of its staff to the development of visual arts skills. All students in grades K-7 receive instruction in the visual arts, and continue to have the opportunity to take art courses in grades 8-12. Rush-Henrietta students consistently earn awards in the Scholastic Arts shows and other area competitions. Additionally, student artwork is highlighted in art shows throughout the school year at the Webster Learning Center conference room and in collaboration with the Marketplace Mall.
