    Instant Admission Day:
    Utica College is offering seniors at Rush-Henrietta SHS the opportunity to apply for admission, meet individually with the Assistant Director of Admissions and receive an on-the-spot decision for the fall term. Utica’s Instant Admission Day is Tuesday, March 12th at 9:00 a.m. in the College & Career Center. Come to the CCC for more information and to sign up for an appointment.

    College:
    Attention Juniors interested in taking summer courses at Genesee Community College – A admissions specialist will be in the CCC on Thursday, March 14 at 2 p.m. to assist with enrollment and discuss the Genesee Promise Plus scholarship which could cover the full cost of tuition for 1 summer course. Scholarship information is available on Naviance and in the CCC. Register to attend on Naviance and see Ms. Taylor for a pass.

    College Visit:
    The Assistant Director of Admissions from Suffolk University will be in the CCC on Tuesday, March 19th at 8:30 a.m. to speak to interested students about the exciting opportunities available at Suffolk. Students should sign up on Naviance to attend and print the registration page as your pass.

    Ortho Clinical Diagnostics
    A great opportunity located in Greece, which will focus on Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering careers. We are seeking several more young people that will have the opportunity to potentially earn a position following graduation.     Continental School of Beauty
    A wonderful program located in their beautiful Henrietta facility will offer young people the opportunity to learn about careers in cosmetology, esthetics, and barbering. Students will receive a FREE service from the school if they enroll and attend!     A perfect program for any young person contemplating a career in healthcare or nursing. Taking place at the School of Nursing on Crittenden Blvd., Explorers will gain insight into the many different career paths in the industry.     American Institute of Architects
    This program is a great introduction to careers in architecture while working with some of the best architects in the Rochester area. Explorers will gain hands on experience at local firms including Clark Patterson Lee, Labella and SWBR. Explorers are encouraged to begin a portfolio and this is a great place to start.     College Fair:
    THE NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) College Fair is coming to Rochester! Juniors from Rush-Henrietta Senior High School will be attending this fair on Monday, March 18th. Pick up, complete, and return field trip forms to Ms. Taylor in the CCC by March 6th. You will also need to go online to register: www.gotomyncf.com. This is an awesome opportunity to meet with over 100 college admissions representatives from all over the U.S., one-on-one, and learn more about schools that might interest you. Don’t delay! This event fills up quickly!

    Scholarships:
    There are over 30 new LOCAL scholarships available! These are scholarships that only R-H students (or in some cases, surrounding school districts) are competing for. They are all listed on Naviance and in the College and Career Center. The amounts range from $250 to several thousand dollars so check them all out. The criteria varies for each, so be sure to open each one and view them carefully. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Taylor in the CCC.

    Career Program:
    The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications for the Teen Police Academy. This is a one week program in July that will give you an in depth view of Police work. Stop into the CCC and pick up an application. Space is limited and the deadline to apply is March 8th.

    Attention seniors:
    Have you received a decision from a college you have applied to or decided on the college you will attend? Please let us know! You can edit your college information yourself in your Naviance Student account under Colleges I’m Applying to or fill out a yellow slip in the Counseling Office.

    SAT/ACT:
    SAT – The next SAT is Saturday, March 9 and the late registration deadline is February 27.  Registration is online only at www.collegeboard.org
    ACT – The next ACT is Saturday, April 13 and the registration deadline is March 8. Registration is online only at http://www.actstudent.org/
