About Me

As an undergraduate at the College at Brockport and during my graduate studies at the College of Saint Rose, I supported teenagers in both residential and school settings. I began my career as a substance abuse counselor, first at St. Anne's Institute in Albany and then with alternative education at Genesee Valley BOCES. Those early experiences taught me how medical, legal, and social service agencies link together to provide comprehensive care for families.
My first placement as a school counselor was here at Rush Henrietta in 2001, so I've worked with many families in this district. My sense is that most students see me as an academic advisor, which is true. I am. But there are many families who've come to me for a safe space to work through conflict, to strengthen relationships, for insight, support and for new strategies for all types of challenges. I love that I've shared in these moments, working for meaningful change in the lives of this community.
After work I happily return home to Sophie and Jack and Rosie Doodle, the charming little people (and puppy) that keep me laughing and loving with my whole heart. I also enjoy reading, painting, live music, puzzles and going on adventures.
