Welcome to ENL! (English as a New Language)

My name is Susy Rosenbloom and I have been the ENL teacher here at Leary School since 2003. I have had a lifelong passion for languages and a strong desire to learn about cultures throughout the world.

The ENL program here at Leary School welcomes students from all over the world. At present in our ENL program we service students whose families are from Iraq, Nepal, Vietnam, Ukraine, Poland, Laos, and China. These students bring a wealth of fascinating experiences to share with everyone at Leary School.

In the ENL program students focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. Students are classified according to the following levels of English language proficiency: Entering, Emerging, Transitioning, Expanding and Commanding and the services they receive reflect their specific needs and their level of proficiency.
