    Lion King Practice is cancelled today!

    Thank you to all the students who applied for stage crew. The applications were all great. Applicants, please check your email to see if you have been selected to be part of Stage crew this year. Our first meeting will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan 28th, after school. Mrs. Miron will pick you up from the cafeteria after school and you'll be able to take the late bus home.

    Sports

    The Fitness Center is closed after school today.

    Anyone planning on playing football needs to attend the winter max lifting on Wednesday after school.

    This past Saturday, the Boys Swimming and Diving Teams competed at the Monroe County Invitational Swim Meet at the Webster Aquatic Center. The Royal Comets recorded an amazing 29 lifetime best times and 11 Sectional qualifying times. 

    Event winners were Christopher Caswell in the 200 Freestyle and Bryce Berkhof in the 100 backstroke.

    First time event qualifiers for Sectionals include Senior Alex Bischoping in the 100 breaststroke, Mikey Flannery in the 100 freestyle, Chris Caswell in the 100 butterfly and Josh Hager in the 500 freestyle.

    Safie Aboelenen had a 9 sec best time in the 100 fly and 3 sec in the 50 free.

    Bayley Herman crushed the 500 freestyle with a 9 sec best time.

    Congratulations Swimmers for a great meet!

    Come support the swim team on their final home meet on Tuesday against Spencerport High School.

    Congratulations to the following students who performed at the Monroe County School Music Association Solo festival this past weekend in Brighton:
    Jemil Arzanesh, Nora Hentschel, Raj Vaghela, Anna Leathersich, Lindsay Richardson, Sarah Picard, Annabella Mack, Eowyn Kroening, Anika Kroening, Ethan Yen, and Jayson St. John
    Everyone received fantastic scores and put in a lot of hard work- great job!

    Congratulations to Ayush Savalia and Allison Albin. Both performed solos at the past weekend's Solo Festival at Brighton. They each received an Outstanding and an Excellent. We are so very proud of your hard work and dedication.

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Teams had an outstanding meet against Fairport last night despite coming up short of a win.

    Bryce Berkhof won the Varsity 200 Freestyle and Jirel Sanchez won the JV 50 Freestyle.

    New Sectional Qualifiers include:

    Josh Hager in the 100 butterfly.

    Noah Hathaway, Jackson Keating and Will Hager in the 100 freestyle.

    Bryce Berkhof in the 100 breaststroke

    Senior Jacob Wenzel dropped 8 sec in the 200 freestyle, Safie Aboelenen posted best times in the 50 breast and 200 IM, Bayley Herman had best times in the 100 Butterfly and 100 breastroke, Mikey Flannery posted a huge best times in the 500 free and 100 breast, Chris Caswell added best times in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 backstroke.

    Way to go Boys Swimming and Diving Teams!

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Teams lost to powerhouse Pittsford last night. 

    Bryce Berkhof won the 500 freestyle.

    New Sectional Qualifiers include Josh Hager in the 200 free and Chris Caswell in the 500 free.

    Mikey Flannery posted best times in the 50 back and 100 free, Jonah Prindle in the 50 free, Bayley Herman in the 200 Individual Medley, Aaron Merkl in the 50 Butterfly, Jackson Keating in the 100 butterfly and 50 free and Jacob Wenzel in the 100 backstroke.

    Last Friday the boys varsity bowling team avenged an earlier season loss to Hilton. Leading this dominating effort was Keaton Ostrowski. Keaton fired games of 227, 202, and a team high 289 to finish the day. This win pushes their record to a league leading 8-1. Keaton and the rest of the Royal Comet keglers will welcome Spencerport to our home lanes today.

    Congratulations to Modified Wrestling! They won their match vs. Canandaigua by a score of 61-57. The next match is Saturday vs. Bay Trail at Bay Trail Middle School in Penfield for their first dual meet.

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Teams lost to Webster last night with a score of 96 to 87. The Royal Comets recorded 34 lifetime best times and 20 Sectional qualifying times. 

    Evan Peters won the 200 IM and 500 Free.

    Congratulations to Jonah Prindle for qualifying for sectionals in 1 meter diving, Noah Hathaway in the 200 Free, Chris Caswell and MIkey Flannery in the 200 freestyle and 15 seconds inthe 500 Free.

    Bayley Herman dropped 18 seconds in the 200 freestyle and 15 seconds in the 500 Free.

    The swim team's next meet is on Tuesday against Pittsford.

    Last night the Boys Mod A Basketball Team improved their record to 3-0 with a 43-37 win over Webster Schroeder. The Team was led in scoring by Jordan Kujawski with 15 points including 3 4th quarter three pointers. Jacob Luc added 9 points w/ 2 three pointers of his own. Jacobs second 3 pointer came in the 4th quarter to put the Royal Comets up by 6 late in the game. TyJae Frazier scored 7 and Evan Brock had 4. The Team travels to Fairport on Friday.

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Teams improved their record to 6 and 2 last night. It was another exciting finish as the edged out Greece Schools with a score of 94-92. 

    Josh Hager took first place in the 100 backstroke. Evan Peters won the 100 and 200 freestyle and Bryce Berkhof won the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly.

    The team recorded 28 individual best times and 21 Sectional Qualifying Times.

    Jacob Wenzel dropped 3 desonds in the 50 free, Jonah Prindle dropped 6 seconds in teh 100 free, Bayley Herman recorded a 27 best time in the 500 freestyle and Matthew Lewis dropped 7 seconds in the 500 freestyle.

    Senior, Alex Bischoping qualified for Sectionals in 1 meter Diving.

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Teams defeated McQuaid last Friday in a thrilling finish. Jackson Keating won the 100 Breast Stroke, Josh Hager took third and Ryan Peters placed 5th to put the Royal Comets in a position to win. The team finished 2nd and 3rd in the 400 Freestyle Relay to clinch the win. The final score was 92-88.

    The team recorded 36 personal best times and 23 Class A Sectional Qualifying Times.

    Bryce Berkhoff won the 200 Individual Medley and Alex Bishoping and Jirel Montilla-Sanchez in the 100 butterfly and Mikey Flannery in the 100 backstroke. Other outstanding performances include Jordan Annlee who dropped 25 seconds in the 100 butterfly and 30 seconds in the 500 freestyle. Jonah Prindle posted a 9 second drop in the 100 freestyle. Congratulations boys for a great team effort! The swimmers and Divers look to improve their 5 and 2 record tomorrow against Greece Storm at home starting at 4:30. Good luck to the team!

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Teams lost a close meet to Victor last night with a score of 98 - 87. The team swam 33 personal best times and an amazing 22 Class A Sectional Qualifying Times. Freshman, Jordan Annlee was a double winner in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 breast stroke, Sophomore Safie Aboelenen won the 50 Butterfly, and 8th grader Evan Peters won the 100 freestyle. The Royal Comets also won the Varsity 200 Free Relay with Evan Peters, Chris Caswell, Noah Hathaway and Bryce Berkhof.

    Congratulations to the Boys Swimming and Diving Teams for their 98-81 win against Irondequoit last night. The team swam 36 personal best times and 19 Class A Sectional Qualifying Times. 7th Grader Bayley Herman won the 50 butterfly while Bryce Berkhof won the 50 freestyle. The Royal Comets also won the 200 and 400 Free Relays. Even Peters swam personal bests in 200 free and 100 fly. Will Hager had huge drops in the 200 free and 100 back. Matthew Lewis posted a huge best time in the 200 Individual Medley. Aaron Merkl swam lifetime best times in the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Senior, Jacob Wenzel had the best times in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Alex Bishoping had a best score in Diving. Josh Hager posted a best time in the 100 breast stroke. The swim team's record is 4-1! Way to go boys! The Swim Team's next meet is Home against McQuaid next Tuesday at 4:30. Please come out and support your Royal Comets.

    Friday morning - only students getting breakfast can go to the cafeteria. No one else! We will be setting up for the Senior Citizen Breakfast, so we need the space.

    The Academic Challenge Bowl and Chess Club had a great first competition last night. The ACB team won both matches, including beating Burger in overtime!     Yesterday the varsity bowling team defeated Spencerport. Helping to lead the charge was Keaton Ostrowski. He fired games of 212, 224, and 205. Keaton will be back in action today when the team takes on Brockport in a tough away match.

    The Boys Swimming and Diving Team participated in the Gates Chili Quad Meet Yesterday.  The Royal Comets came out on top defeating all 3 teams: Honeoye Falls Lima (166 - 139), Gates Chili (182 - 112) and Rochester City Schools United (209-79).

    The team recorded 44 personal best times and an amazing 20 Class A Sectional Qualifying Times!

    Eighth Grader Evan Peters was a double winner and qualified for sectionals in the 200 and 500 freestyle and Junior Bryce Berkhof won the 100 Butterfly qualifying for sectionals. Bryce also qualified for sectionals in the 200 Individual Medley.

    Tryouts for the Rush Henrietta Lady Comet Varsity and JV Basketball teams will take place Monday, November 11th through Wednesday, November 13th. Monday's time is from 9:00 - 11:00 am at the High School gym. Tuesday is 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the High School gym. Wednesday, for Varsity, the time is from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the High School gym. Jv, on Wednesday, is from 3:00-5:00 pm a the Webster Building. You must attend all 3 tryouts to be eligible to make either team. You must also be approved in the Family ID system by November 8th to be eligible.     Several Roth students are to be congratulated on being selected to perform in the New York State School Music Association Zone 2 Junior High Area All-State Music Festival. The concert is this Saturday afternoon (November 2nd) at Greece Athena Performing Arts Center. The students performing are NYSSMA Area All-State students and were selected from over 700 applicants based on their Solo Festival scores from the previous year and will perform with some of the highest level musicians in an eight-county area.

    Girls Mod B Soccer Game: Roth played Burger and tied 1-1. There was a corner kick and Ciena Craw scored the goal, with an amazing shot. There were many assists from midfield and offense, and some great kicks from the line of defense. They did well at keeping the ball towards the offensive players and pushed through the cold weather.

    The Roth boys lost a close game against Burger 5-4 in overtime last night. Goals were scored by Amar Kassem, Noah Sherman, Jonah Hoffman and Mitchell Parker. An excellent game was played by both teams with the score fluctuating back and forth. Way to go boys on a well played and exciting game!

    The Mod B Girls volleyball team beat the undefeated Burger team 4-2 for the second year in a row. Congratulations!

    The Girls Mod A tennis team tied a very good Irondequoit team yesterday. Great play forom Gabi, Hailey, Ella, Gilli, and Emma. the girls' overall record is 2-2-1.

    The Girls soccer game played on Thursday was one of their best, although they lost against Fairport. The whole team played their hardest!

    The Girls Mod B Soccer Team has a game at Brighton Twelve corners School today at 4:45. Players should stay in the cafeteria until 3:30.

    Last night the Girls Varsity Soccer team beat Greece Arcadia 3-0. Goals were scored by Jolie Donzo, Kaelin Shepard, and Jordyn Pullyblank. Avery Roberts, Brooke Cicoria and Maddy Schmitz all had assists. Kayla Vorasane had 11 saves in goal for the shutout.

    Girls JV Soccer beat Greece Arcadia with a score of 2 to 1 last night. Lena Cox was taken down on a break away, leading to a penalty kick scored by Chloe Reukauf. The second goal was an assist from Catrina Rowe to Reilly Fitzgerald. Congratulations on the win and good luck tomorrow against Fairport!

    The Roth Boys soccer team tied a tough match last Friday night against Webster 3-3. Goals were scored by Geremy Barnwell, Mitchell Parker and Amar Kassem. Keir Olson, Ian Allen, Raj Vaghela and Liam Connelly also had a great game!

    Last night the girls varsity soccer team beat Eastridge 5-1. Goals were scored by Jolie Donzo, Jordyn Pullyblank, Amber Daley and Jaelyn Davis had a pair. Alexis Heist, Jolie Donzo, Jordyn Pullyblank and Michaela Neelin all had assists in the win. Kayla Vorasane had 6 saves in goal.     The Roth Boys Soccer team lost a tough match last night against Webster Spry 3-2. Both goals were scored by Geremy Barnwell on assists from Amar Kassem and Mitchell Parker. Excellent defense was played by Raj Vaghela, Dylan Kellogg and Christian Montanque.

    The Boys' Mod A soccer team took to the field Tuesday afternoon for their third game of the season against Webster Thomas. The boys fought their way to a 1-1 draw after conceding an early goal. Scoring for the Royal Comets late in the 2nd half was Justin Dey, after a scramble in front of the goal mouth. Helping seal the victory after the overtime period were Connor Davis in goal, while Sam Yahoob and Jordan Annlee anchored the defense. The Comets head out to churchville for their next match on Thursday.

    Girls JV soccer played a phenomenal game against Hilton last night, while being supported by the entire Women's MCC team. The MCC players supported the girls in ther first win in five years against Hilton. Rush-Henrietta came out the victors with a score of two to zero. The goals were scored by eighth graders Alyvia Day and Ashlyn Roberts. Congrats to the entire team for your hard work so far this season. Good luck tomorrow against Penfield!

    Last Friday night the girls varsity soccer team defeated Canandaigua 5-1. Jolie Donzo had 3 goals and an assist while Courtney Rowe and Amber Daley each had 1 goal assisted by Jenna Brock. Kayla Vorasane had 7 saves in goal. Congratulations to the Girls Varsity Soccer team who will battle Hilton at home this week.

    Following their season opening loss to Victor on Wednesday, the Boys' Mod. A soccer team went to Webster Schroder and won 4-1. The entire team stepped up their game to help secure the victory. Scoring 2 goals for the Comets was Landon DeFabio. Also scoring a goal each were Avish Gurung and Nico Rodriguez. Niroj Gurung added to the scoresheet with 3 assists. Helping control the defense was Sam Adamson.

    Do you like nice things? So do we! Help keep our school looking clean by throwing trash away in the trash cans available. In the bathrooms, take the extra step to make sure paper towels end up in the trash, not on the floor. Take pride in your school, after all, you spend a lot of time here!

    Girls JV soccer had 2 overtime losses in the last week. Both games were a score of 1-2 against Pittsford-Sutherland and Webster-Schroeder. Goals were scored by Emma Boyce and Miah Lathrop. Good luck this Friday against Canandaigua!

John Cook and Tommy Giambra were solid in goal as Mitchell Parker and Liam Connelly kept the ball moving in the midfield. Christian Montaque and Raj Vaghela kept Webster in check on defense while Geremy Barnwell and Amar Kassem were firing on goal. Way to go Boys!

    The Girl's Swimming and Diving Team defeated Gates Chili last night with a score of 100 to 80. The 200 Medley Relay Team of Rachel Bast, Erin Bennett, Chelsea Maynard, and Shannon Bennett opened the meet with a solid win. Rachel Bast was a double winner in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke while qualifying for the Section 5 Championships in both events. Senior Desirae Herman added a win in the 500 free in a Sectional Qualifying time and her 200 Freestyle time also qualifies her for sectionals. Natalie Smith posted an 8 sec drop in her 100 free and Mariah Augustine dropped 7 sec in the same event. Neylah Ortiz dropped 26 seconds in her 100 backstroke. Congratulations Team for an outstanding meet!
