Welcome

Dear 2nd Grade Family,

Hello Leary parents and future students! My name is Wendy Molyneux and I am ecstatic to be part of the Leary 2nd grade team and thrilled to be your child’s teacher for the 2018/19 school year. I look forward to helping each child become a critical thinker, enthusiastic reader, skillful mathematician, and collaborative fourth grade student. We have a very busy and exciting year in store for us so I know that this year is going to be an adventure for all of us!

I know my teaching must begin with making your child feel at home in the classroom and helping all the children come together into a learning community by making this transition as seamless as possible. I am aware that this class is made up of unique individuals, each with his or her own learning style, interests, history, hopes, and dreams. So with that in mind, we are going to smile, laugh, dream big, have high expectations and persevere together!

I believe that as a 2nd grader your child is a role model to all students in our school.  I’m looking forward to a classroom of positive attitudes and students who are active participants in learning.  I am very aware of the impacts teachers have on the lives of their students. I can’t wait to get to know each and every student personally as well as academically so that each boy and girl can grow as a student and feel welcomed into a warm classroom community.
