A. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The New York State Board of Regents mandates that all students achieve a proficiency in a foreign language in order to receive a Regents diploma. This means our concentration will be on speaking and listening, while also doing some reading and writing. We will also be preparing to take a Local Final Exam in June.
B. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You will find the topics we study this year useful in every day situations:
physical environment education personal identification
family life leisure house & home
community & neighborhood travel health & welfare
food &drink current events culture
C. GOALS FOR THE YEAR
1. To participate regularly and use Spanish in class.
2. To practice Spanish outside of class
3. To demonstrate your Spanish skills on the Final Exam in June
4. To be aware of Hispanic happenings through the media.
Each marking period the quarter grade will be based on the following percentages:
80% Summative/Required Course Assessments which includes:
*Common unit assessments
*Common unit projects
20% Formative/Practice Assessments which includes:
Final exam will be 20% of the overall final grade.

It is your responsibility to check with a classmate, Google Classroom or me to see what you missed. Most work will be in your unit books.

My website can be used in many different ways. It provides downloadable vocabulary as well as unit books (or pages) and also practice for past and present vocabulary.
G. EXTRA HELP
Please do not hesitate to stay after school if you are falling behind, do not understand something or just want extra practice!
You are expected to have your binder and a writing utensil when you enter my classroom.
