Welcome to Burger Junior High School! Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions that are designed to help you learn more about our school. Please feel free to call the main office at 359-5300 for additional information. We're happy to help!
Q. Where can I drop off my child?
A. Students should be dropped off after 6:45 a.m. to the lower bus loop so as not to interfere with Burger’s morning bus run. Students who are not meeting with a staff member/club will be directed to the cafeteria where they will have the opportunity to eat breakfast and work on their homework.
Q. My child is not starting the school year at Burger and won't know anyone. What can we do to have him/her feel more comfortable?
A. At Burger, the counselors pair up new students with students with similar interests for the first few days. They follow the Burger student's schedule for one or two days as they shadow the student. This helps the new student have people to sit with at lunch and to talk to throughout the day. The Burger student can answer many questions and introduce the new student to their friends.
Q. What does the Burger bell/student schedule look like?
A. Please scroll to the bottom of the page to view the Burger Junior High School Time Schedule for the breakdown of the class periods.Q. What supports/extra help are available if my student is struggling?
A. At Burger we have Successful Student Workshop after school Monday, Tuesday & Thursday each week afternoons from 2:35-3:30. Late buses are provided at 3:30 p.m. on these days. Please scroll down and view the Burger Successful Student Workshop Pamphlet for the specific teachers and room numbers that offer extra help.
The consequence for not doing your work is doing your work. To support this, we also have “working lunches." Students can complete their work during working lunches.Q. When my student is attending evening events in the cafeteria and gym, where should I pick them up?
A. For the dances and canteens that take place during the evening in our cafeteria and gymnasiums, you should pick up your children at the lower bus loop. For dances – enter/exit through door #5 and for canteens – exit/enter through door #11. Please note that you must go inside to pick up your student.Q. How can we stay up to date on events and extracurricular activities that are offered at Burger?
A. For information on Burger events, clubs and to view our daily announcements, please return to the Burger Junior High School homepage and select items of interest from the Navigation list along the left side of the page.Q. Do we have to complete an Interval Health History form for each sport?
A. Yes, an Interval Health History form will need to be completed for each sport your student participates in. Additionally, your student will need to have a current physical on file in order to be cleared for participation in a sport. For families with students entering 7th grade and up, please see www.rhnet.org/Athletics for further information regarding the sports clearance process and subsequent forms.
