About Mrs. Landschoot
-
My name is Holly Landschoot and I graduated from Geneseo with my Degree in Elementary Education. I began teaching at Winslow in the Spring of 1993 in a fourth grade classroom. I taught Fourth grade for two years. Then I jumped all the way down to the Kindergarten grade level. I spent a few years in that grade level before moving up to Second grade for two years. In 1999, I moved back to the Kindergarten grade level and have been happy teaching this grade for many years now.
Teaching Kindergarten is a perfect fit for me because I like to play games and have fun. Anyone that has volunteered in my room knows that I have a plethora of games covering my shelves. I believe that learning should be fun. The children in my class enjoy games and often do not realize there is an educational purpose. They are so fun at 4, 5, and 6 years old!! I love to watch the children grow academically and socially!
To occupy my free time, I like to take pictures of my family. I like the challenge of capturing the moment for us to enjoy forever on our digital frames that are placed throughout our house. We like to visit with family, walk our black lab, go out to eat, read books, swim, and play sports.
I continue to work closely with the Winslow Parent Teacher Organization (WPTO) even though I no longer have children at Winslow. This is a great group of people that work together to do amazing things for the children attending Winslow. Anyone that has a child at Winslow is already a member of this fantastic organization. We meet one night a month, for an hour, to plan events for the school and discuss things that are happening at our building. Come out to a Wednesday night meeting and see what is going on at our school. It is amazing how much voice we have as a group. I hope to see you there!
