Dear Winslow Families:
In an on-going effort to ensure our social-emotional learning (SEL) efforts are having a positive impact on students, we administered our annual student satisfaction survey to all students this past Wednesday. We look forward to reviewing the results and refining our efforts as needed. We’ll share the results at our April or May PTO meeting. If interested, here are some of the SEL competencies we work to develop in students.
One of our SEL competencies is Social Awareness. One way we promote and teach this competency is by finding ways to support our community. This week, we will have a coin drive to support the Ronald McDonald House. Click here for all the details and a letter about the Ronald McDonald house. We will be collecting a different type of coin each day:
Monday - Bring in some pennies
Tuesday - Bring in some nickels
Wednesday - Bring in some dimes
Thursday - Bring in some quarters
Friday - Pot of Gold: Bring in coins of your choiceBelow are some additional items for the coming week and beyond.
PTO Talent Show
Thanks to everyone who registered for the Talent Show. Registration is now closed. The show will start at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20. Dr. Mullen recently shared an E-News message about Women’s History Month, and why she believes representation of women in leadership matters. She invited interested students to submit a video essay of no more than one minute long answering the following: “What does leadership mean to me? Why is it important for women to be in leadership positions?”This contest is open to all R-H students. You are encouraged to ask your child if they would like to participate. There will be four winners - one in each of these grade bands: elementary (K-3), intermediate (4-6), junior high (7-9), and senior high (10-12). Winners will be invited to a special lunch with the superintendent in April. To enter, students should submit their video by Friday, March 22, through this form. The winning entries will be announced at the end of the month.
