Dear Winslow Families,
Students did a great job on picture day. Check out some of these “Behind the Scenes” photos! We are having our fall Spirit Week to promote school and district pride starting tomorrow. Our Spirit Week coincides with high school Homecoming events! Here is a schedule of theme days. Students are encouraged to relax and wear school-appropriate pajamas or comfortable clothes tomorrow.
Here is some additional information I want to pass along:
Winslow’s Grade 1-3 Open House is This Wednesday: We look forward to seeing students in grades 1-3 and their families at Open House the evening of Wednesday, October 4. This is a nice, informal opportunity to see the classroom and school. Due to limited parking, we will stagger the times. Our grades 1 and 3 and Mrs. Partridge/Mrs. Torres’ families are invited to come from 6 to 6:40 p.m., and our grade 2 time is from 6:50 to 7:30 p.m. Please adhere to these time slots to alleviate some of the traffic in and out of the school as parking is limited!
Bus Loop Safety: Please do not drive into the bus loop if buses are unloading in the morning and when dismissal is happening. This is a major safety risk if parents pull in and around buses with flashing lights. If your child is late, pull into the parking lot, park, and walk to the front door. This is the same process for early dismissal. We realize this is a longer walk, but this is for the safety of all Winslow students.
Winslow’s Rock Garden: Be sure to check out the Winslow Rock Garden that our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Allison Rodgers, put together to ensure students, staff, and families feel inspired. This goes a long way to helping students know they BELONG every day at Winslow!
Interested in Working at Winslow? We are looking for a cafeteria monitor to help during lunches. Reach out to me and complete this application if interested.
Follow Us On Social Media: You may already know the district has an active Facebook presence with more than 7,300 followers, but did you know it is now on Instagram as well? Follow @rh_schools for more photos and videos of activities in our schools and the district!
Homecoming Week Food Truck Rodeo October 4: The community is invited to the Food Truck Rodeo from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, at the Senior High School. The annual Powder Puff football game begins at 5:30 p.m., and will be followed by a bonfire. There are varsity games being played all week, including the Homecoming Football game at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 7, against UPrep at the Elmer Gordon Stadium adjacent to the Senior High School. Go Royal Comets!
Interpreters and Translation Service for Winslow Families: If your language is other than English, and you require an interpreter for any of our events, please let us know as soon as possible so that one may be obtained. We also offer phone translation services through the Propio Language Services system. You can contact the main office at 359-5090.
