    Dear Winslow Families:

    I am sending this early this weekend to let you know about some exciting things planned for next week! We are having a Spirit Week, our 3rd Grade Musical will be at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Roth Auditorium, and our End-of-Year Picnic ia at 6 p.m. Friday, June 14 at Winslow.

    Below are some additional items for the coming week and beyond.   

    Library and Chromebooks!
    The last day to take out books from the Winslow Library is Friday, June 7.  Also, we’ll ask students to leave Chromebooks at school starting June 10.  

    Winslow Fun Day-Save the Date
    Mark your calendars!  We would love to have you join the fun as a spectator as your child participates in many outdoor activities on Thursday, June 20. 

    Grade-Level Fun Day Times:
    1st grade:       9:15 to 10:50 a.m.
    2nd grade:      9:15 to 10:50 a.m.
    Kindergarten:  11:50 a.m. to 1:35 p.m.
    3rd grade:       11:50 a.m. to 1:35 p.m.

    Budget Vote June 18
    Rush-Henrietta is putting forth a revised budget for voter approval. The vote will be held from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, at the Transportation and Operations Center, 1133 Lehigh Station Road. More information about the revised budget may be found at www.rhnet.org/June18Vote.

    There are several upcoming community budget forums you are invited to attend in order to find out more about the budget development process, learn how district spending priorities support student success, and become better versed in the voting process. Dr. Mullen and a representative from the Board of Education will be present at each event. Please join us at 6 p.m. on one of the following dates:

    • Wednesday, June 12 - Guardian Angels Church, 2061 East Henrietta Road
    • Thursday, June 13 - Henrietta Public Library, 625 Calkins Road 
    • Monday, June 17 - Rush United Methodist Church, 6200 Rush Lima Road 

    Absentee ballots for the June 18 budget vote are available to qualified school district voters. Contact District Clerk Cheryl Castronovo at 359-5010 or ccastronovo@rhnet.org for an application. Completed absentee ballots must be received at the Parker Administration Building by mail or dropped off in person no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 18th. A sidewalk dropbox is available at the administration building, which is located at 2034 Lehigh Station Road. 

    Consider Camp Invention for Summer Learning and Fun!
    Turn your curious kids into innovative thinkers this summer at Rush-Henrietta’s Camp Invention! Spark your child’s curiosity and creativity with our all-new program, Illuminate! Campers entering grades 1-6 will collaborate with friends to take on fun, hands-on STEM challenges. Each of these experiences provides an imagination-stretching, confidence-boosting summer. The camp costs $275 and will be held from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 15-19 at Roth Junior High School. Scholarships of $100 are available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. To register, call the Continuing Education Office at 359-7805.

    Free Summer Meals Available July 8 Through August 16
    Rush-Henrietta will be a local site for the USDA Free Summer Meal Program, providing breakfast and lunch to students through age 18 each weekday from July 8 to August 16. There is no paperwork necessary - just come to the Senior High School between 7:30 and 9 a.m. for breakfast and from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch. Meals must be eaten on-site and are available for purchase for those older than 18. Learn more here.

    Are You Moving?
    If you are moving and know that your child will not be attending Rush-Henrietta schools next year, please inform us by reaching out to Sheila Rivers-Rhoden in the main office (359-5490).  This will help us with placement for next year.  You can also email sriversrhoden@rhnet.org.
