Rush-Henrietta Ranked Top District in Monroe County!
If you're a parent, student, alum, or employee, you already know that Rush-Henrietta is the best! Now, the rest of the world is finding out!
Justin Murphy, a reporter from the Democrat and Chronicle, spent months examining new ways to view the quality of schools and school districts statewide. This month, as part of USA Today Network's New York State School Quality Index, he unveiled a list of best public schools and school districts in Monroe County and in New York. This new index measures every public and charter school in New York, taking into account what the newspaper says are "a variety of non-academic factors that parents say they value, but can be hard to measure." The rankings were based on data regarding class sizes, diversity, suspension rate, attendance rate, and teacher experience, among other factors. Here's how we did:
Rush-Henrietta is ranked as the No. 1 school district in all of Monroe County.
Crane and Leary appear on the list of Top 10 elementary schools in Monroe County.
Burger and Roth appear on the list of Top 10 middle schools in Monroe County.
Rush-Henrietta Senior High School is No. 2 on the list of Top 10 high schools in Monroe County, trailing only Fairport's version of the Ninth Grade Academy. Our former Ninth Grade Academy was ranked in the top five.
The New York School Quality Index is based on the most recent data (2015-16) from the New York State Education Department's Report Card Database. Schools are assigned a score of 1-10 on each of five factors: Class sizes, student attendance, suspension rates, teacher experience, and diversity.
If you see a Rush-Henrietta staff member, please take the opportunity to congratulate them! And, YAY! Go, R-H!
