Concussion Management
-
In the Rush-Henrietta Central School District, we take head injuries seriously. We have partnered with the New York State Athletic Administrators Association and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association to educate our coaches, physical education teachers, school nurse teachers, student athletes, parents, and school physicians about the latest news in sport concussion management policies and procedures. You can access our Concussion Management Protocols brochure by clicking the below link.
The district has been focused on recognizing a concussion, reacting appropriately, understanding the danger of reacting inappropriately, and following correct protocols for allowing students to return to school and athletic participation. Our goal is to reduce the number of students and athletes suffering from post-concussion syndrome. For more information, please contact Jeff Onze, director of athletics, at 585-359-7809 or jonze@rhnet.org. You may also contact Sharon Harris, district nurse practitioner, at 585-359-5028 or sharris@rhnet.org.
