Hello, my name is Brook Baumgartner and I am the School Social Worker at Sherman Elementary School. In my position as the social worker, I provide emotional and social support to our students through individual and group counseling. The topics that I cover in small groups include the New Comers Club, Changing Families and Social Skill Development.
I work closely with families who contact us with concerns about their children's emotional well being along with their classroom teachers, as needed. I am also available to all Sherman parents for support in the area of parenting and referrals to community resources.
I am the Co-leader of the Sherman PBIS team. I work closely with teachers to help students achieve the 5 character traits; Responsible, Trustworthy, Ready to learn, Respectful and Caring.
