Dear Parents/Guardian(s), and Students
I am Mrs. Zinkievich. I have been employed by the district since 2000 (you do the math to figure out how many years I have taught). I grew up and still live in a small farming community known as Pavilion, NY. I live in Pavilion with my husband and 2 children. Karlee was born in 2004 and Gavin was born in 2007 (you do the math to figure out their age)! We also have a loving and kind spirited chocolate lab named Rockefeller, a.k.a. Rocky! As a family we love the great outdoors! I enjoy watching my kids play volleyball, basketball, soccer, ice hockey, and run track. Needless to say we are always very busy. There is nothing more relaxing to me than a great book. I typically find myself hooked to trilogies! I also enjoy biking, going for a run, and playing volleyball!
I received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Math at SUNY Fredonia. While there I played intercollegiate volleyball. From there I went on to earn my Masters Degree in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo. I am living my dream teaching!
I am extremely excited to have the opportunity to reach out as your child begins his/her 6th grade year at Vollmer. I take my job as an educator very seriously and want to assure you that I will do all that I can to help your child learn, grow, and be successful. I truly believe that every child has the potential to do something great, they just need to believe in themselves. It is my goal to show your child their full potential and give them confidence to succeed.
I am a strong believer in the idea that a student's success, motivation, and enthusiasm for learning excels when they are supported at home by their guardians. Therefore, I encourage you to take an active role in your child's education this year. I believe in keeping the lines of communication between the teacher and the parent/guardians very open.
Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.
Together we can build
a successful school experience!
