Welcome to Crane's Technology Page

I'm Katy Smith, Crane's Technology Teach Assistant

I love my job as a Tech TA.  After many years of IT experience, including 14 at IBM, it is a welcome change to be working in an elementary school.

I help our teachers when they are preparing lessons that include technology, I answer questions, I offer suggestions, solutions, and above all else massive amounts of encouragement as our teachers walk through changes that come with our district's technology plan.  I can often be found in classrooms, working with the class as the teacher instructs, or working with small groups or individual students on current lessons and curriuculum.  I edit Crane's newsletter and web page, and each day you can hear my voice making the morning announcements.

BUT MY FAVORITE RESPONSIBILITY AT CRANE IS WORKING WITH THE THIRD GRADERS TO PRODUCE ROYAL COMET TELEVISION.  

Every Friday morning at approximately 7:50 a.m. a group of third graders broadcasts Crane's announcements over YouTube.
