Free School Meals for Grades K-12!
ALL students in grades K-12 are eligible for free meals for the 2023-2024 school year! This is possible due to the federal Community Eligibility Provision.
All students in grades K-12 are automatically eligible for free breakfast and lunch each school day, regardless of need.
Families at all grade levels who meet eligibility guidelines are encouraged to still submit a free and reduced price meal application. Students with an application on file are eligible for benefits including fee waivers for AP exams, college applications, and instrument rental. Other benefits are sometimes based on these applications, including the recent free tablet opportunity and the federal P-EBT Food benefit cards provided to families during the pandemic. Also, much of the state aid our district receives is based on the percent of students with applications on file.
A new application is required each school year, and may be downloaded from our website at www.rhnet.org/mealapplication.
Thanks to Director of Food Service Geraldo Torres for his work in bringing this exciting program to Rush-Henrietta. Being able to provide free meals is a great way to help our students be ready to learn, and help our families have one less thing to worry about when getting their kids ready for school each day.
