UPK is a free, New York State-approved education program for children who will be 4 years old by December 1, 2026, and who live in the Rush-Henrietta school district. Full-day classes (6 hours) and half-day classes (2.5 hours) are offered at district elementary schools and community-based locations. Transportation to and from the UPK program is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.
The UPK lottery has taken place and families will be contacted to schedule an intake meeting. All applicants need to complete the registration packet (see below) and bring all documentation to the intake meeting. If you have any questions or need a hard copy of the registration packet, please contact Deb Wood at 585-359-7913 or via email.
As of the 2025-2026 school year, the UPK classes that had been held at the Good Shepherd building moved to Fyle and Winslow elementary schools. Click here for answers to frequently asked questions regarding the move.
