Changing Your Address
All families with school-age children residing in Rush-Henrietta must notify the school district of any changes to their primary residence as soon as possible. This includes any student attending an R-H school building, or for a student who lives in Rush-Henrietta but attends a private, parochial, or charter school.
Proof of residency is necessary for any address change to be made, and must be in the name of the parent/legal guardian. Please review the list below to provide one of these types of documents:
Types of Residency Documentation
Own a Home
- 2-pg Warranty Deed
- First Payment Mortgage Letter or Loan Payment/Coupon
- Tax Escrow Letter
- Certificate of Occupancy (new build)
- Trustee Deed
- Promissory Note
- Tax Bill
The mortgage documentation needs to be in the name of the parent/guardian.
Note: If you have pre-closing documentation, awaiting the closing date, please contact the school to make them aware so that paperwork can be submitted as soon as possible.
Rent or Lease
- Private Home Rental Agreement (cannot be handwritten)
- Rental Community Agreement
The lease needs to be in the name of the parent/guardian.
All leases submitted must be a formal, standard lease agreement that includes:
- Rental term period
- Tenant (parent/guardian) and landlord names
- Signature page with tenant & landlord
- Landlord phone number
Shared Housing
If you do not own/rent and live with someone in the district who does:
- Complete a Shared Housing Affidavit - Please contact your child’s school main office for this affidavit.
Note: An approval letter will be mailed to the homeowner/primary renter.
Please notify your child’s school (or the District Registrar for non-public school students) at your earliest convenience, and if possible, ahead of your anticipated move as processing time can take up to a several business days for the effective changes to happen.
Families with Students Attending Rush-Henrietta Schools
Please contact the main office of your child’s school to update your new address. The staff member will provide you with the necessary steps and information, and ask you to submit an appropriate residency document from the options listed above. Please make sure to note the effective date for this new address. Busing changes can take up to a few business days to become effective.
If you have more than one child who attends Rush-Henrietta, you only need to contact one of the school buildings with this information. The office staff member will coordinate this address change for all students within the district.
Note: If the new address is in a different attendance zone, your child’s school will inform you of any school changes.
R-H Residents Attending Private, Parochial, or Charter Schools
Any school-age child attending a private, parochial, or charter school and whose primary residence is within the Rush-Henrietta school district must notify the District Registrar when their primary residence has changed. This office will provide you with the necessary steps to update your address and ask you to submit an appropriate residency document from the options listed above.
This address notification is also necessary when the child is receiving bus transportation as a new bus schedule needs to be created for your child(ren).

Note: If you have moved into temporary housing due to eviction, economic hardship, or a similar reason, please contact your child’s school main office to discuss this situation as soon as possible, so that the district can offer assistance with the address change.
