R-H Emphasizes the Importance of Consistent School Attendance
Our theme this year in Rush-Henrietta is “You Belong Here!” With that in mind, our schools are placing a renewed emphasis on consistent, daily student attendance.
It is so important that students are in school every day. Of course, time learning in the classroom is important. The same goes for what is learned elsewhere about getting along and becoming a productive member of a team. This happens in all corners of our district - while riding the bus, eating in the cafeteria, and taking part in activities such as athletics, music, and clubs.
Regular attendance helps students feel better about school and themselves. Chronic absences can be a warning sign that a student is losing interest, falling behind, having issues with a peer, or experiencing physical or mental health issues. We want to partner with you to make sure your student feels comfortable being in school every day.
We created a one-page document to start this important conversation. It explains more about this national problem and what R-H is doing to help turn the tide in our district. Please take a few minutes to read it and commit to helping your student be at school this year. Your child’s principal will be following up in the weeks to come as this effort builds momentum.
