During the school year and throughout the summer, Continuing Education offers the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program. Community Pool Use Family Open Swim times are available following the school calendar. Want to have your next party at the pool? It is available, on a limited basis, for district residents to rent during the school year.
The high school pool can be scheduled by Rush-Henrietta school groups and approved Rush-Henrietta community-based organizations. To be approved, your organization must provide the required paperwork {proof of 501(c)(3), appropriate liability insurance, and a list of organization members with addresses}. For a fee schedule, available dates, and appropriate paperwork, contact the continuing education office at 359-7805.

Courses For Kids
Throughout the year we offer several courses for kids including individual music lessons, and five-hour prelicensing. In addition, we offer the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program for children.

Our program year is divided into four sessions: summer, fall, winter, and spring. A Continuing Education brochure describing courses, fees, and registration procedures is mailed to each district resident each session. Non-district residents may request a brochure by contacting our office. Driver and Traffic Safety Education (DTSE) is a joint partnership between the New York State Education Department and the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). This course is intended to educate students on appropriate driving skills and habits as well as playing a responsible role in the highway transportation/safety system. This fee-based progam is open to any student age 16 years or older who is enrolled in high school at the time of registration, and holds a valid NYS Learner's Permit. Fall, winter/spring, and summer programs are offered each year.
Eligibility
Minimum age of 16 years and enrolled in high school at the time of registration
Hold a valid NYS Learner's Permit
Course Requirements
Attend state-mandated 24 hours of lecture and 24 hours of road classes
Abide by Rush-Henrietta Code of Conduct
Mandatory driving time with a parent or guardian outside of DTSE course time
Obtain a minimum grade of 65 in both lecture and road classes
Registration Information
All classes are based out of the Rush-Henrietta Senior High School.
The course cost is $549. (Possible additional costs; all fees must be paid prior to MV-285 being issued.)
Full payment with MasterCard or Visa is due with online registration.
Scheduling priority is first-come, first served.
Non-residents must provide a letter of recommendation from their school principal.
Successful Course Completion
A form MV-285 will be mailed to parent/guardian, two to three weeks after successful course completion. With this certificate, a 17-year-old driver is eligible to apply for a senior license.
Receive a certificate for a possible reduction in automobile insurance cost. This is dependent upon insurance provider participation. Call your insurance agent for details.
No high school credit is given for DTSE.
