Academic Intervention Services

Academic Intervention Services (AIS) assist students in meeting the state learning standards. AIS includes additional instruction that supplements the instruction provided in the general curriculum and/or student support services such as guidance, counseling, attendance, and study skills which are needed to support improved academic performance. Academic intervention services are intended to assist students who are at risk of not achieving the state learning standards in English language arts, mathematics, social studies and/or science, or who are at risk of not gaining the knowledge and skills needed to meet or exceed designated performance levels on state assessments. Academic intervention services shall be made available to students with disabilities on the same basis as non-disabled students, provided, however, that such services shall be provided to the extent consistent with the individualized education program developed for such student.

Advanced Coursework Notification

Rush-Henrietta provides students in grades 5-12 with advanced coursework opportunities. Linked below is a letter to parents/guardians informing them of the opportunities and the benefits to students who participate in advanced courses. Within the letter, there is information about what advanced courses are offered, and a description of the academic and non-academic support Rush-Henrietta provides to students.

Emergency Remote Instruction Plan

Rush-Henrietta has plans in place to ensure students and staff are prepared to transition to remote learning, if necessary. The district may engage students in synchronous and asynchronous learning on days of remote instruction under emergency conditions. The plan addresses the six regulatory components identified by NYSED related to how remote instruction will be provided under emergency conditions.
