Project Lead the Way

Project Lead the Way is a hands-on, project-based program engaging students on multiple levels, exposing them to areas of study they typically would not pursue, and providing a foundation and proven path to college and career success in STEM-related fields. The PLTW courses are listed in the science and technology sections of the Secondary Program Course Guide.
In 2025, for the sixth consecutive year, Rush-Henrietta Senior High School was named a Distinguished School by Project Lead The Way! Rush-Henrietta is one of only three high schools in the entire state to receive this recognition for at least six consecutive years. This recognition is not easy to obtain. Only 17 New York high schools are so honored this year.
R-H earned this outstanding recognition for its program implementation, student achievement, and enrollment and retention in three pathways R-H offers - Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, and Pre-Engineering. Our PLTW programs include grades 9-12; Burger and Roth junior high schools also share in this honor. These experiences align with Rush-Henrietta’s Vision 2037 strategic plan. It calls for our district to provide learning environments that are equitable and student-centered, and be a place where individual growth and potential is cultivated through supportive, engaging educational experiences for each student. Thanks to our community for providing support for this program!
