Best Communities Award

2026 Best Community for Music Education

Rush-Henrietta has been named one of the nation’s Best Communities for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation in 2026 - for the 17th consecutive year!

This designation is given to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in their efforts to provide music access and education to all students. To qualify, Rush-Henrietta met criteria concerning funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for music programs. Recognition is given based on our continued commitment to music education. It’s the 21st year overall that Rush-Henrietta has received this special honor.

There's a reason it's called "Best Communities for Music Education" and that's because this designation is reserved only for those communities who demonstrate, through their time, support, and demand for excellence that they are committed to the music education of their students.  The Rush-Henrietta community has shown its support of the music program through its participation, parental support of all students who are at home practicing, and its investment in the program, time after time.  The music department believes that parents continue to make this investment because of the confidence they have in the quality of the instructional program and in recognition of the many positive benefits that are brought about through participation in the arts. The survey results are the evidence of that support.

Every year, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) conducts a survey of the nation's schools, asking questions about their music programs.  The survey requests information about everything from budget, facilities and resources to student participation, time given for music instruction and teacher quality, to name a few. The music department would like to express its sincere appreciation for the continued support of the community.  We could not do what we do without you!

We thank our community for its continued support!
