Career and Technical Education introduces students to many career opportunities and related requirements. CTE courses provide rigorous academic content using the state learning standards of Career Development and Occupational Studies (CDOS). In Rush-Henrietta, CTE includes the academic programs of Business, Computer Science, and Technology. Academic and technical knowledge and skills within each series of courses prepares students for further education or employment in a career. The program offers work-based learning experiences, integrated and specialized instruction, a Work-Skills Employability Profile, and nationally accredited assessments. In addition to the opportunity for students to explore career paths, CTE programs offer several advantages:

• Real-world skills: CTE programs focus on practical, hands-on learning, equipping students with relevant career skills.
• Job prospects: Students gain valuable experience prior to graduation, making them more attractive to potential employers.
• High earnings potential: CTE graduates have the ability to earn high wages in careers related to their vocational training.
• College readiness: For students who choose to pursue a college degree, the coursework and soft skills developed through these programs provide additional college preparation.
• Engagement and motivation: CTE programs can make learning more engaging and relevant for students, often providing a positive impact on attendance and grades.

The CTE programs offered in Rush-Henrietta include Business, Technology, and Family & Consumer Sciences.
