National Standards for School Counseling Programs
Standards in the personal/social area guide the school counseling program to implement strategies and activities to support and maximize each student's personal growth and enhance the educational and career development of the student. The school counseling program enables all students to achieve success in school and develop into contributing members of our society.
- Standard A: Students will acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skill to help them understand and respect self and others.
- Standard B: Students will make decisions, set goals, and take necessary action to achieve goals.
- Standard C: Students will understand safety and survival skills.
