School Counselors

  • The school counselor is an educational specialist and the case manager for all students. S/he utilizes leadership, advocacy, and collaboration skills to promote student success, provide preventive services, and respond to identified student needs. The school counselor implements a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development for all students. This program includes: 6-12 career guidance; individual student planning; preventive and responsive services; collaboration with families, faculty, post-secondary institutions and other stakeholders.

We are proud to work in conjunction with parents, staff, and the community in assisting students to take ownership of and their academic development, career/college exploration, and social emotional growth.  These learning experiences, be it individual, group, in school, or in the community, help students to mature into positive and contributing members of our society.  School Counselors in Rush-Henrietta work collaboratively with parents, school staff, and the community to assist students in attaining academic, career, and social/emotional experiences.  These experiences help students to become more effective learners and contributing members to society.
