• Response to Intervention

    Response to Intervention (RtI) is a general education initiative. It is a three-tiered approach.  It's goal is to reach struggling children BEFORE they fail, and to provide the level of intervention needed to be successful in the school setting.  Students are assessed several times a year to identify problematic areas in the effectiveness of the curriculum.  Occupational Therapy practioners may be involved in any or all of the tiers of intervention.  OT involvement may take various forms, including, but not limited to, providing teacher/staff inservices, suggestions for modification of classroom, materials, and/or school environment, observing the student and providing strategies for use at classroom or home, or, if the need is determined, direct intervention.  Disclaimer
