Dear Parents/Guardians,

Over the past few months, reading workshop has become the driving force behind our reading choices in eighth grade ELA. Reading workshop is directed by the students -- students choose their own texts and they spend time reading in class on a regular basis. The hope is that a more student directed approach to reading will breed lifelong readers. My expectation is that the kids read not only in class, but out of class daily as well. Please help me in encouraging your child to read each day and put some thought and care into his/her reading selections.
