Social Studies Reading Program
Our Social Studies Reading Program's purpose is to broaden student knowledge of culture, places and peoples, historical events and time periods for grades 3, 4 and 5. Students read a book and demonstrate to their teacher that they have read the book through a book report or another teacher accepted format. Historical fiction, historical nonfiction, biographies and cultural folktales usually fall under acceptable books. REMEMBER, your teacher decides if the book meets Social Studies Reading Criteria.
